Play Inquiry & Learning Agreement Time

Students have recently selected a Play/Inquiry project that they will be working on.  Projects were decided based on students’ existing interests. These will be ongoing projects to develop students’ knowledge, skills and experiences while working with other students.  The goal of these projects will be for students to produce a story or narrative through their exploration in Play/Inquiry.  For example a project may develop through construction and building, by using a plan using a storyboard of sequenced events through their understanding of the narrative structure; conference with teachers to develop/refine ideas; explore and create each frame or set; photograph each scene they create; upload images; write the narrative to accompany the images.
In room 17 Sia is working with students to develop writing and art projects such as Puppet Making, Claymation, Book Making and ICT publishing.  Sheryal in the Taurus is working on Music, Performing Arts and Puppetry projects and Construction.  Elke is working in the outside area and in Room 17 on Science/Environmental projects using natural materials, Construction and storyboarding projects, and ICT (for research and creating stories). 
In Maths times, we have been exploring counting patterns, graphing and informal measurement. After lunch, Learning Agreement tasks will include Reading, Word Study and Handwriting.
